Student Teaching Requirements for Undergraduate Program in Elementary Education (Grades 1 - 6)

Candidates in the Undergraduate Program in Elementary Education (Grades 1 – 6) are asked to complete two semesters of student teaching in 1st through 6th grade General Education or Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classrooms. They are placed in a higher-grade band (4th – 6th grade) for one semester, and a lower-grade band (1st – 3rd grade) for the subsequent semester.

Candidates are placed by the Field Placement Office at partner NYC DOE schools located within the borough of Queens.
