Student Teaching Requirements for Graduate Program in Elementary Education (Grades 1 - 6)

Candidates in the Graduate Program in Elementary Education (Grades 1 – 6) (including Dual Certification candidates) are asked to complete one semester of student teaching in a 1st – 6th grade General Education or Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom. Candidates are in the field Monday to Thursday, for the full school day.

Candidates are placed by the Field Placement Office at partner NYC DOE schools located within the borough of Queens. Alternatively, students can apply to remain at their place of employment, if applicable. The site will need to be vetted and approved by the Field Placement Office.
