We have also Bloomberg Terminals at Queens College. It is a great source of information about financial markets.

How to Create a Bloomberg Account & Log into Bloomberg Market Concepts

  1. There are 8 Bloomberg Terminals at Queens College (2 inside the Economics Department 6 down the long narrow corridor on the third floor of Powdermaker)
  2. To log into the Bloomberg terminals, you use your username and password (CAMS), but for the username you have to write qc\ before, like qc\jdoe.
  3. Click on the Bloomberg application and hit the enter key to move into the login page
  4. If you are a first-time user click on to create a new account button and to fill in the fields to create an account and click SMS (or phone) for the verification code.
  5. Write down your login information for future reference.
  6. Login to your Bloomberg account.
    If you want to know more about how to use Bloomberg, you can take their certificate BMC:
  7. The blue bar at the top is the function bar, enter BMC into the function bar and hit the enter key to load Bloomberg Market Concepts landing page
  8. You must create a separate login using the sign up button on the right hand side
  9. Write down this separate login information for BMC and login to BMC
  10. Verify your account through SMS again and you will be given the option to load BMC through the terminal or through the browser (Either one works)
  11. Once you have loaded BMC it should show several modules with the first being the introduction, you must watch the first part in order to unlock the other sections

FAQ

  1. You must be logged into the terminal to use Bloomberg Market Concepts
  2. You can finish the training course over many sessions if you want to
  3. In order to receive the competition certificate, you must complete all the parts and watch the final section
  4. You will receive questions you must answer along the way; they are not graded but serve as placeholders to make sure you are understanding the concepts being taught
  5. The videos and questions should take around 8 hours to complete
  6. If you run into any problems hit the F1 (Help) Key and it will assist you, you can hit the F1 (Help) key twice to send a message to a Bloomberg Representative if you need
