What are Experiential Learning Opportunities?

Experiential Learning Opportunities (ELOs) allow “learners to have direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, clarify values, and develop individual capacity to contribute to their communities” (Association for Experiential Education). ELOs provide hands-on experience in an area of interest and help students build essential skills for long-term academic and career success.

Queens College (QC) focuses on ELOs in five areas:

Learn more about these ELOs below and the QC office that sponsors related opportunities within that area. Check out the QC Student Opportunity Hub Database for more information on any eligibility requirements and resources to support you through the application process.

OSDL provides students opportunities to participate in civic engagement, community service, leadership in student clubs and organizations, and volunteering.
