CUNY Spring Forward FAQs

Q: What is CUNY Spring Forward?  

A: CUNY Spring Forward is one of two CUNY-wide paid internship initiatives that recruit students from across CUNY undergraduate campuses who have not had substantial paid professional experience. 

Q: What are the requirements to participate in CUNY Career Launch?  

A: You must be 18 years old or older at the time of your application, have had no prior paid internship experience during your college career, currently enrolled as a CUNY undergraduate student with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher, and are eligible to work in the United States. 

Q: What majors are considered in your application?   

A: All majors are welcome to apply!  

Q: Where does the CUNY Spring Forward program take place?   

A: CUNY Spring Forward interns are placed at organizations and companies all over New York City spanning all five boroughs. 

Q: When does the CUNY Spring Forward program take place?   

A: The CUNY Spring Forward program takes place from late February to mid-April

Q: What are the hourly requirements for the Spring Forward intern?   

A: CUNY Spring Forward interns work 15 hours per week and no more than 30 hours every two-week pay period for the course of the 9-week internship. A 15-hour paid orientation training week precedes the internship.  

Q: Is the internship paid?   

A: Yes, CUNY Spring Forward interns will earn $20/hour before taxes.

A: CUNY Spring Forward is no longer accepting applications for the 2024 spring cycle. Please check back in October 2024 for updates.
