Auditions will take place December 2, 12:00-1:30p in the Pereira Theatre
and
December 4, 5:00-8:00p in Rathaus Hall M-11
Callbacks December 6, 11:00a-2:00p in Rathaus Hall M-11
Students should prepare either a contemporary monologue or one of the available sides, which can be located here.

About the characters:
Hadeel / Andrea – any race/ethnicity
Youssif / Daniel – any race/ethnicity
Ahmed / Martin – any race/ethnicity
Bana / Laura – any race/ethnicity
Woman / Ameera’s Sister – Syrian, but the actor can be anyone who is a fluent in Arabic and ideally is Arab or Arab-American. (The lines are transliterated, so Arabic literacy isn’t required)
Interpreter – any race/ethnicity. This character speaks Arabic, but is a non-native speaker. This character also speaks English. For this role, you do not need to be fluent in Arabic, as long as you’re willing to learn. Beginner or Intermediate Arabic recommended.
NOTE: For the last two roles, we will be working with an Arabic language coach to ensure proper pronunciation of the Syrian dialect. All other roles speak exclusively in English.

Students should prepare a contemporary monologue and 32 bars of a pop/rock song. Please bring a paper copy of your audition excerpt for the pianist. To be considered for lead roles, students must have a basic grasp of reading music.
