Anthropology Major and Minor
Students wishing to major in anthropology may choose between two tracks: general anthropology and pre-professional anthropology. Students wishing to minor in anthropology may choose either the general minor or one of our specialized minors. The specialized minors are designed to guide students towards courses that will prepare them for specific career paths.

Majors
Students wishing to major in anthropology may choose between two tracks: general and pre-professional. The general major requires 33 credits and provides a strong foundation in anthropology. The pre-professional major requires 39 credits, and is designed for students who wish to pursue graduate studies in anthropology or a related discipline. It requires two additional courses, including one additional 300-level and a class in anthropological research design. Under both major tracks, students may also elect to do a senior honors thesis.
Minors
Students wishing to minor in anthropology may choose between our general minor and our specialized minors. The general minor provides coverage of the four subfields while allowing students to focus on the subfield that interests them most if they choose to do so. Our specialized minors each include coursework that crosses subfield boundaries and are designed to prepare students for targeted career paths. Our specialized minors may be combined with an anthropology major or any other major.
