I deeply respect the tremendous responsibility and the opportunity of having a hand in shaping Queens College’s (QC) future business professionals. I have a passion for helping students. I have been successful in helping students pass the CPA exam at QC. I currently teach Taxation, Advanced, Intermediate, Governmental, Not for Profit and Auditing Accounting. I taught all mentioned accounting courses in the past, including Cost at Baruch as well as the BEC and FAR sections of the CPA exam at the Becker. My diverse leadership exposure in strategic planning & budgeting, business management, accounting, auditing, tax, cost-saving strategies, large scale system implementation, construction projects management, and running an independent CPA firm for a while joined with my teaching capacity, leaves me with a unique opportunity to present my courses with appropriate real-life examples.

I have been teaching accounting since 2002, and became tenured at Queens College in 2007. I received both my B.A. and M.S. in Accounting at Queens College. Arthur Andersen & Co. provided an excellent foundation and training as an auditor. I then worked as Assistant Controller for a major advertising company in New York City as well as in small private auditing firms. Many years later I returned to Queens College to teach, and now enjoy sharing an enthusiasm for and love of accounting with my students. My goal when teaching is to differentiate instruction to best meet the learning styles of the students, whether more verbal, auditory or visual learners. Very often I will act out in front of the class to emphasize a lesson; I am usually quite animated.

I am now in my third career, as an educator. I have been an engineer in the aerospace and telecommunications industries and a partner and senior consultant for a Big Four firm. I have served clients in many industries (financial services, telecommunications, airlines, banking, insurance). I also testified in deposition or at trial as an expert witness in a variety of federal and state civil litigations (private anti-trust, contract, securities, insurance). I am a long-time member of the editorial board of The CPA Journal, and has served on committees of the New York State Society of CPAs and the AICPA.
My mission is to give my students some of the benefits of my professional lifetime of experience in the ‘real world’ of business, as well as some understanding of the demands that world now imposes on young professionals.
