Welcome to Assessment Fest!
Assessment Fest is two days of professional development sponsored by the Office of the Provost.
Monday, August 26, 2024 is a workshop on Academic Assessment.
Tuesday, August 27, 2024 is a workshop on Administrative Assessment.
Both workshops will be held in the East Ballroom of the 4th floor of the Student Union from 9am-5pm.
A light breakfast, lunch, and snack will be provided for attendees.

Our Facilitator
Dr. Keston Fulcher is co-author of Learning Improvement at Scale: A How-To Guide for Higher Education. He serves on the advisory panel to the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment, collaborates extensively with the Assessment Institute in Indianapolis, and is a founder of the Learning Improvement Community. He is a Professor of Graduate Psychology at James Madison University, coordinates professional development related to assessment and improvement, consults with multiple institutions, and serves as the James Madison University’s Improvement Strategist.

About
This workshop will teach you about the assessment cycle, writing student learning outcomes, mapping the curriculum, and determining assessment instruments. The workshop is hands on and collaborative, and you’ll get a chance to make connections with other members of the QC community. By the end of the day, you will have practiced the steps of the assessment cycle and be more prepared to help in your department’s assessment activities.

This full-day workshop will provide important information about and hands-on practice with key parts of the assessment process. It is geared toward novice assessors in non-academic divisions and offices. The workshop is hands on and collaborative, and you’ll get a chance to make connections with other members of the QC community. By the end of the day, you will have practiced developing an assessment plan and be more prepared to help in your unit’s assessment activities.
