As the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness, Rebekah holds a key role in helping Queens College create credible, informed, and action-oriented decisions in support of Queens College’s continuous improvement efforts.

Rebekah earned her bachelor’s degree from Widener University and her MA in Higher Education Leadership from SUNY Stony Brook. She is finishing her studies at the University of North Dakota, where she expects to earn her doctorate in Educational Practice and Leadership in Spring 2025. Rebekah’s doctoral dissertation is focused on the complex role held by assessment directors at higher education institutions.

Rebekah led institutional effectiveness programs at The Art Institute of New York City and then at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, where she designed an institutional effectiveness strategy in response to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education reaccreditation visit. Most recently at Glasgow Caledonian New York College, Rebekah created a framework for all institutional improvement systems, helped initiate the institution’s first formal program review to assess the viability of academic programs and the appropriateness of existing curricula, and helped the institution to achieve Middle States accreditation.

Dr. Zhili Liang serves as the Director of Institutional Research at Queens College. With a strong commitment to enhancing institutional effectiveness and student outcomes, she leverages advanced data analytics to drive informed decision-making.

Dr. Liang leads a team responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive student data systems, creating robust reporting tools, and producing official data for federal and state-level institutional reports. Her expertise extends to generating actionable insights that support policy implementation, strategic planning, and educational initiatives.

A dedicated proponent of data-driven approaches, Dr. Liang’s work is instrumental in fostering institutional improvement and advancing Queens College’s educational mission. Her passion for harnessing the power of data and technology is evident in her innovative approaches to institutional research.

Dr. Liang holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany, which underpins her sophisticated understanding of educational metrics and outcomes.

Lizandra is the Associate Director for Survey Research and Assessment, where she leads the design, implementation, and analysis of campus surveys and the collection of key student and alumni data. In this role, she aims to promote a deeper understanding of our students’ experiences and development through cohort studies, impact evaluation studies, needs assessment, and other projects.

A first-generation graduate and QC alum, collaborating with fellow faculty and staff on student-centered initiatives is the highlight of her work. Lizandra has been with Queens College since 2011 and holds master’s degrees in data analytics and applied social research, and philosophy – a combination that brings conceptual thinking and ethical rigor to her training in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Outside the OIE, Lizandra teaches in the Philosophy department where she guides her students through the fascinating world of formal logic.
