Leader: Jerima DeWese
Decription: The goal of Project 1 is to evaluate diverse, equitable, inclusive, just, and accessible (DEIJA) teaching and learning. Furthermore, Project 1 seeks to understand teaching and learning, integrating and incentivizing DEIJA teaching into the tenure and promotion process at Queens College. The Office of Diversity and Compliance will begin Project 1 following the close of the HEDS survey in Fall 2023.
Jerima DeWese (she/her) is Queens College’s first Chief Diversity Officer / Dean of Diversity. She earned an MA in Urban Affairs and Public Management from QC in 2011 and has more than two decades of higher education experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), student affairs, academic affairs, enrollment management, human resources, diversity and compliance, alumni affairs, and fundraising and development. DeWese has served in senior administrative and educational leadership positions for the past three decades.
