Master of Science in Education in Integrated Bilingual Early Childhood Special Education
This 43-credit Master of Science in Education (MSED) program prepares bilingual candidates to become early childhood special education teachers to work with young children who are English language learners (ELLs) with special needs and their families. The program integrates both special education and bilingual education content, pedagogy, and practices. Upon completion, candidates will be eligible for two certifications in New York State: Early Childhood Special Education (Birth to 2nd grade) and a Bilingual Education extension.
Requirements for Matriculation
These requirements are in addition to the general requirements for matriculation.
- Hold an initial/provisional certificate in either childhood or early childhood from New York State
- Write a well-organized, well-conceptualized essay that clearly communicates their interest in the bilingual early childhood special education program
- Provide three letters of recommendation from professional source
- An interview may be required.
