Facilities, Planning & Operations advises and makes recommendations on project needs. Assists in developing scope of projects to develop conceptual estimates and schedules. Participates in consultant selection and contracting processing. Coordinates most aspects of capital projects from kickoff to hand-over of new facilities and represents the college at CUNY/DASNY bi-weekly meetings to address college needs as they unfold. Reviews reports to assess and communicate findings to management to ensure important issues are addressed. Directs college staff for support when needed for project completion. Works on the coordination of campus space reorganization and renovations, projects of sustainable nature including furnishings.

Venue Rentals and Events
Responsible for revenue generating rentals across campus, including movie and television filming; large scale governmental, consular, and cultural events; and conferences and colloquia, and other external rental events. The office organizes and executes high profile campus and CUNY-wide events while also scheduling and supporting student and club events to ensure expanded student event access to all campus spaces and facilities. Additionally, QCVRE furthers Queens College’s civic engagement mandate, working with city, state, and national agencies to provide vital community services.

Environmental Health & Safety
The mission of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) office is to serve the campus as advisors and to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best management practices. The campus EHS team is committed to ensuring and protecting the health and safety of the campus community. The goal is to mitigate hazards by coordinating and organizing health and safety compliance through training and oversight programs and to adhere to goals as set forth by CUNY, which is committed to meeting its environmental obligations efficiently and cost effectively. The EHS team conducts environmental audits to ensure compliance and assess performance across campus in addition to offering a range of environmental training programs, coordinating hazardous waste management, reviewing environmental recycle, reuse and pollution prevention activities, and supports the University’s environmental initiatives.
