It will include the addition of the “Armory,” a collection of professional clothing that will be made available for free to students who need business attire for interviews. The goal is to enhance student confidence in a competitive job market. The event is open to the college community and invited guests.

The items in the Armory were donated by the college community and acquired through the efforts of Arianna Livreri, associate director of Civic Engagement and the Knights Table.

Where:  Queens College | Student Union LL29 | 65-25 Kissena Boulevard, Flushing, NY, 11368 | Directions | Campus Map

Who:  Queens College President Frank H. Wu and Livreri will welcome invited speakers, including U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng, NYS Senator John Liu, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., Assembly Member Sam Berger, and a representative for Council Member James Gennaro. Two student food pantry volunteers—one of them an international student and former client who has gone on to hold student campus leadership positions—will also speak.

Council Member Vickie Paladino provided funding for the pantry expansion.

Background
Queens College established the Knight’s Table Food Pantry in fall 2018 as part of the college’s commitment to reducing food insecurity among its—and all City University of New York—students. It was renamed the Knights Table in October 2024 to reflect the addition of the “Armory,” a collection of professional clothing made available to students for free as business attire for interviews. Overseen by the Office of Student Development and Leadership at the college, the Knights Table’s mission is to assist and empower students by providing no-cost nonperishable food items, toiletries, and clothing. It is open by appointment Monday through Friday. Please click HERE to learn more.
