The 2024 Baccalaureate Ceremony is to be held in person on Tuesday, May 28 at 7 pm. Students with outstanding academic achievements will be honored at the Baccalaureate ceremony as part of the commencement celebration.
The Baccalaureate Honors Convocation is a ceremony for students who have earned academic distinction.
If you are eligible for any honors, prizes, or awards, you will be notified directly by your department and/or the College Committee on Honors & Awards. Notification will be sent to students’ Queens College email addresses in early May.

Requirements for Graduation with General College Honors*
General college honors are conferred on graduates who meet standards approved by the Academic Senate: To be eligible for honors, a student must take at least 45 credits whose grades count toward the calculation of the student’s Queens College grade-point average (GPA). For eligible students, the honors designation is determined solely by the student’s cumulative Queens College GPA upon graduation, as follows:
Summa Cum Laude | 3.900 and up |
Magna Cum Laude | 3.750 – 3.899 |
Cum Laude | 3.500 – 3.749 |
*Honors are not calculated for graduate students.
