Undergraduate Admissions

-Peter F. Vallone Scholarship

MAINTAIN a "B" average or better and receive a grant from the the New York City Council based on the city budget for four years. Associate's degree students are eligible for 6 semesters. You may qualify for additional financial aid, based on need.

-The William E. Macaulay Honors College (MHC)

A flagship program of the University that provides an enhanced undergraduate education to academically gifted students. Since its inauguration in 2001, the Honors College has grown rapidly, drawing on the unique resources of CUNY and New York's cultural, scientific, government, and business communities to provide its students with a broad-based and challenging liberal arts education.

-Queens College Scholars Program

The Queens College Scholars program offers a variety of merit-based scholarships each fall to full-time freshmen. (Applicants to the CUNY William E. Macaulay Honors College (MHC) need not file a Queens College Scholars application.) In addition to filing a freshman application indicating Queens College as the first choice, interested students must also file a Queens College Scholars application prior to February 1.

The CUNY website now has available a Financial Aid Estimator to calculate the financial aid awards you may receive if you attend CUNY for Spring 2007.

Honors and Scholarship Programs

The Macaulay Honors College

The Macaulay Honors College is a highly selective program that offers a challenging curriculum and a full tuition scholarship plus other financial support. The program accepts first-time freshmen in the fall semester only. Applicants to this program file a separate Macaulay Honors College application. There is no rolling admission for this program; completed applications and all accompanying documents must be received no later than November 1 (for Early Decision) or December 15 (for Regular Decision). Queens College Honors Programs

Queens College Honors Programs are distinctive in their emphasis on interdisciplinary study, which encourages students to make connections among the ideas introduced in various disciplines. Interested students should contact the Office of Honors and Scholarships for more information on these and other honors and scholarship programs:

Queens College Scholars

Freshmen The Queens College Scholars program offers a variety of merit-based scholarships each fall to full-time freshmen. (Applicants to the Macaulay Honors College need not file a Queens College Scholars application.) In addition to filing a freshman application indicating Queens College as the first choice, interested students must also file a Queens College Scholars application prior to February 1. Queens College Scholars are required to enroll in one of the following honors programs:


Transfers The Queens College Scholars Program offers merit-based scholarships each fall to full-time transfer students who complete an A. A. or A. S. degree with a GPA (grade point average) of at least 3.5. (Students who enter with an A. A. or A. S. in the spring semester can apply for this scholarship for the following fall semester.) In addition to filing a transfer application indicating Queens College as the first choice, interested students must also file a Queens College Scholars Application for Transfer Students prior to June 1.
