Administration
President
The president, the college's chief educational and administrative officer,
is responsible for maintaining and enhancing educational standards. The president
helps the college provide the best education for all students and articulates
the mission of the college to national and international audiences.
Affirmative Action Officer
Responsible for implementing affirmative action and nondiscrimination policies
campuswide. Monitors the recruitment and hiring process, provides training
to faculty, staff, and administrators, and reviews complaints alleging policy
violations.
Vice President of Institutional Advancement
Many areas overseen by the Vice President implement the strategic initiatives
of the president, such as technology usage and effective
business practices. Other units have an external focus, responding to community,
alumni, and media constituencies, or assuring
strong relations with government and the community.
Labor Relations & Special Counsel
Responsible for labor relations for instructional staff, including compliance
with board bylaws, college policies and contract provisions. Responsible for
providing legal advice and guidance to the college's academic and administrative
departments, offices, and related entities. Represents college in grievance
and agency proceedings, serves as records access officer and as liaison attorney
with state attorney general's office in all litigation.
Queens
College Foundation & Development Office
The foundation develops and increases the college's resources in order
to provide more opportunities to students and services to faculty. It receives
gifts and grants with which it finances programs and research that support
the college's objectives. The Office of Development is responsible for
fundraising activities and gifts made to the college. Gifts are deposited
with the QC Foundation and utilized in accordance with the wishes of donors.
Senior Vice President & Provost
The chief academic officer of the college, the provost administers all academic
programs. The office coordinates all faculty position and academic budget
allocations and monitors academic issues, including the curriculum, accreditation,
academic program review, and research. As the senior vice president, the provost
advises the president on matters relating to overall planning and allocation
of resources.
Vice President for Student Affairs
Oversees the Division of Student Affairs, which
supports the academic mission of the college by providing services and resources
outside the classroom that enhance the in-classroom experience. Some of these
services include career counseling, health
and wellness services, and student activities.
Vice President for Finance & Administration
Oversees the college's financial and administrative arm, which provides support
services to advance the teaching mission of the college.
Vice President for Outreach & Cultural Affairs
Oversees operations at the college's Mid-Manhattan Extension Center,
which includes the Asian American/Asian Research
Institute, John D. Calandra Italian American Institute,
Women and Work Program, and the Center
for Worker Education. Also oversees development of the Italian American
Museum, which is affiliated with the college through the Calandra Institute.
Acts as the college's representative to the CUNY Campus Legislative Action
Council and facilitates communications to legislative bodies.
