Web Server Migration Completed

 

The Queens College Web server that hosts all department Web sites has been migrated to a new and more reliable system as of Februrary 2007.

Department Web Site Each department has been allocated 500 MB of Web space. Departments requesting a new Web account or changes in access to an existing account will need to print and fill out this form and return it to the Help Desk in the I-Building, Room 133.
Personal Web Site All students and members of the faculty and staff have been allocated 250 MB of Web space. There is no form to fill out.
Access to the Server Those who maintain their department’s Web site must use their Active Directory account username and password to access the server. An Active Directory account can be set up at https://cams.qc.cuny.edu (CAMS). To learn more about Active Directory and CAMS, please click here.
   
Web Content Management System
 

OCT is working with consulting firms to implement a Web content management system (CMS) with an intuitive interface that will allow nontechnical users to easily create and maintain their Web content. The CMS will help promote branding and layout consistency across Queens College websites and provide each department/unit secure and easy access to its content.
